DESCRIPTION:With a firm focus on teaching qigong\, this weekend of practice and conversation explores the transition from qigong as a personal practice to sharing the practice with others. Using simplified forms that can be quickly learned and are relevant to multiple schools of qigong\, we will explore how qigong is taught traditionally and how it can be adapted to the needs of a modern western audience. \nOver the weekend we will split our time fairly evenly between practice\, teaching each other and discussions around form\, function\, philosophy and the core skills of teaching. \nIf you are interested in teaching qigong\, either as someone who is looking to start training\, or feels that you could enhance your skills\, the weekend will offer you an opportunity to spend time with like minded people in a friendly environment\, hone your skills and find out about The Qigong Academy’s approach to teacher training. \nPricing and Discounts\nAccommodation and all meals is an additional £220 payable to Whaley Hall on arrival. \nIf booking before 25th Feb\, tuition fee is £199 (excluding accommodation). \nIf booking on or after 25th Feb\, tuition fee is £249 (excluding accommodation). \nWhen we have enough people booked to cover costs\, we are happy to offer concessionary rates. SUMMARY:Qigong in the Garden - Revisiting Simplicity
DESCRIPTION:At it’s heart\, qigong is a very simple practice and while studying additional techniques and theories may make us feel that we know more\, the truth is these ‘advanced’ techniques will ultimately reflect the simplicity that resides at the core of the practice. \nIn this one day workshop we will be joined by a wonderful Chinese Teacher\, Yan Cui to explore a range of qigong techniques and practices in order to revisit the simplicity at the heart of the practice. \nTeacher Yan Cui began learning Qigong from her Grandfather in 1989\, and in 1991 she continued her training at what became known as the ‘Medicine-less Hospital’ in China\, where she completed a three month teacher training\, specialising in Qigong for Self Healing. Then in 1994\, she undertook the intensive ‘Two year Teacher Training’ at the Hua Xia Zhineng Qigong Centre\, with Dr Pang Ming\, the Founder of Zhineng Qigong\, and went on to teach other teachers at the Centre. She now lives in Canada with her husband\, who she met on the 2 year training programme in Beijing. \nIf an insightful\, relaxed day of practice and conversation in beautiful surroundings with like-minded folk (with a shared lunch) sound good\, this is for you.

DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe Sunday Sessions are structured online workshops that combine practical details of both theory and practice combined with informal discussion and led practice. The format for the session is: \n2pm to 3:30pm – Talk / Discussion\n3:30pm to 4:00pm – Informal discussion with tea and biscuits (not recorded)\n4:00pm to 5:00pm – Practice \nFor those who cannot attend the live event\, recordings of the initial Talk / Discussion and the final practice are available for pre-order using the links below. \nIf you are pre-ordering the recording\, please feel free to drop any particular questions\, or areas that you would like great er clarity around into the “Order Notes” section at the Checkout stage\, or email me with specific questions. Jos has yielded this Chestnut tree which once stood in Eemness (NL)\, divided it in hundreds of chipped samples that are now dispersed\, forming a social sculpture. Olivier uses this platform to graphically express how we can find our way in an ever changing world. \n\n\n\nWe’re also delighted to confirm that the noted sound healer\, Katherina Bornefeld will be offering a sound concert during the retreat.
