How we work together

Our guiding principles

The ultimate style of Qi Gong is the one that works best for an individual practitioner.

We have drawn together teachers with a broad range of experience from a wide range of traditions, and offer a space in which we can learn from and support each other.

Teachers should be signposts, not destinations.

We do not support hierarchical behaviour. Any behaviour that belittles others or unduly elevates an individual or approach to Qi Gong will not be tolerated.

We do not need to agree, but we do need to listen.

We encourage discussion and sharing. It is fine not to agree with others, but we ask you to explain why in a manner that does not cause offence.

What our members say

“John is an excellent teacher with a deep knowledge of Qi Gong, built over decades of practice. He brings real depth to his instruction, sharing refinements and details in the movements that I had not encountered before.”

“It is a space to have technical discussions about your own personal Qi Gong experiences and actually experiment with new ideas and forms where other community members can advise and comment. What a powerful learning space.”

Qi Gong teacher in training

“I have been on many trainings but nothing like this one. I felt valued by the whole-person approach and found the teachings easily accessible. The relaxed and open demeanour of the teacher was exceptional.”

Frequently asked questions

Are you open to all styles of Qi Gong?

In short, yes. We believe that all Qi Gong leads to oneness and that while we may be on different paths, we are heading in the same direction. Qi Gong is an awareness practice — creating the space to listen to and be aware of others is part of that.

Do I need to train with the Qigong Academy to join as a teacher?

No. We are here to support everyone who is interested in teaching Qi Gong, and we encourage you to share your views, perspectives and teaching tips. We are stronger together.

Can I offer my teaching to the wider Qigong Academy community?

The short answer is yes, but. We aim to pay all teachers who work with us €100 an hour, and that depends on two things: you will need to comply with our Code of Conduct, and we need enough people in membership to make it financially viable.

Do you offer an affiliate programme?

Yes. You will need to request access, but you can earn a rolling 20% commission for anyone you introduce to the community — practitioner or teacher — while they remain with us.
